| A new type of computer occupies the headlines of sciences. This quantum computer is based on the principles of quantum mechanics and can perform calculations no other computer can do. For example, it can decompose large integer numbers into prime numbers. Professor Buzek is a leading theorist in this newly emerging interdisciplinary field of quantum information. His suggestion of a quantum cloner and a universal NOT gate have became landmark papers. During his visit in Germany he plans to investigate programmable quantum processors and to aim for optimal manipulations with quantum information. |
