| The enormous progress in experimental quantum optics has created ever shorter laser pulses reaching now the attosecond domain, the time light needs to cross the nucleus. Professor Ivanov is a pioneer in the field of attosecond sciences. The optical centrifuge for molecules, optimal control of nonlinear optics and ultra high-harmonics generation from atoms in intense laser fields are only a few highlights of his vast and impressive reservoir of discoveries. During his visit at the Universitaet Ulm he plans to investigate sub-femtosecond, sub-Angstrom imaging of molecular and electronic dynamics. |
