Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Franz Dieter Fischer is well known internationally for his outstanding work on the micromechanics of materials. Working at the interface between materials physics and continuum mechanics, he has developed new concepts for describing the mechanical and thermodynamic behaviour of multi-phase alloys and other complex multi-component materials. During his stay in Germany, he will further develop these methods. to describe the mechanical behaviour of biological and bio-inspired materials. This will allow him to transfer ideas and methodology established in many years of research on technical materials into an emerging field at the interface between materials science and biology. |
