Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Anders Nilsson is well known internationally for his outstanding achievements in surface chemistry and x-ray science. He has made key contributions to the understanding of the chemical bonding of molecules at surfaces, hydrogen storage and catalysis as well as to fundamental aspects of the properties of water, ice and aqueous solutions. Furthermore, he has also established x-ray emission spectroscopy as an extremely versatile tool to study surfaces, interfaces and liquids. During his stay in Germany he plans to implement time-resolved x-ray spectroscopy using free electron lasers for novel ultrafast studies of chemical dynamics. Professor Anders Nilsson is hosted by Professor Martin Wolf at the Fritz-Haber-Institut, Berlin, and Professor Wilfried Wurth at the University of Hamburg. |
