Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Berg is well known internationally for his fundamental contributions to computational physics. He has made important contributions to a large variety of research topics ranging from high-energy physics to biophysics. Most influential is his multicanonical Markov chain Monte Carlo method (with Neuhaus), which has found its way from lattice gauge theory over statistical physics into biophysics and biochemistry. During his stay in Germany, he plans to pursue simulations of lattice gauge theory and biologically relevant molecules.
