Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Dr. Ringström has played a seminal role in recent mathematical developments in general relativity. He has analysed the complicated 'Mixmaster' behaviour of spacetime singularities and made important contributions to the understanding of the dynamics of cosmological models with accelerated expansion. To do this he has developed new techniques for hyperbolic partial differential equations. In Germany he will investigate the influence of different models of matter on theoretical descriptions of cosmic expansion. |
