Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Kenji Ohmori is world-renowned for his experimental research on molecular coherent control using femtosecond laser pulses and on attosecond spatio-temporal engineering of molecular wavepackets. He has become one of the leading protagonists in modern applications of femtosecond quantum control, and, since recently, has directed his research interests towards fundamental questions of quantum mechanics resulting in a series of spectacular experiments on quantum carpets and quantum information processing with molecular wavepackets. During his stay in Germany, he will apply his techniques to quantum many-body systems at temperatures close to absolute zero, in particular ultracold molecules and electronic wavepackets in interacting Rydberg gases.
