Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Chubukov is internationally renowned for his outstanding research on correlated electrons in solid state physics. One of his central interests is the study of the interplay between magnetic and fermionic excitations, for instance regarding the identification of the microscopic mechanism responsible for high-temperature superconductivity and the nature of the superconducting state. During his stay in Germany, he will study the unconventional superconductivity in the new iron-based superconductors. Professor Chubukov is hosted by Professor Moessner at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems and Professor Buechner at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State Research in Dresden, as well as Professor Eremin at Ruhr-University in Bochum.
