Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Layfield is an internationally leading researcher in the area of f-block chemistry, who has made decisive breakthroughs in the field of lanthanide single-molecule magnets, leading to a detailed understanding of their potential use in nanoscale devices. These discoveries changed the fundamental understanding of the general structure-property relationships in molecular magnetism and have opened a novel path to the first high-temperature single-molecule magnets. During his stay in Germany, he will continue his research on organometallic single-molecule magnets. |
