Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
Professor Efendiev is an internationally leading mathematician in the area of multiscale finite element methods and a co-author of the first book in this area. He has made numerous valuable contributions in the area of multiscale problems, including error estimates for multiscale finite elements, uncertainty quantification for multiscale problems and upscaling for nonlinear multiscale problems. He closely collaborates with the oil industry in developing models and algorithms for oil recovery simulations. In Germany he will continue his research on multiscale problems and uncertainty quantification in connection with various man-made industrial porous media. |
