Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Schulze-Makuch is internationally renowned for his pioneering work in astrobiology. He has made important contributions to the theory of possible life forms in other worlds such as Venus, the Saturnian satellite Titan, and Jupiter. He has re-analyzed data from the Viking missions and has shown that these might indicate life that uses hydrogen perchlorate as an anti-freeze fluid. During his stay in Germany he will work with scientists from the Helmholtz Research Alliance "Planetary Evolution and Life" coordinated by the DLR Institute of Planetary Research in Berlin on the habitability of Mars, Titan and earthlike Exoplanets using spacecraft data available at DLR. |
