Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Holland is an internationally leading chemist in the area of inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry. He achieved a breakthrough in the field of dinitrogen conversion by iron complexes to mimic the Haber-Bosch process for the production of ammonia. Using a multidisciplinary approach, he altered the established knowledge of homogeneous catalysis by discovering the significance of the changes in the spin-state of the transition metals for catalytic processes. In Germany, Professor Holland will continue his research on the importance of inexpensive transition metals for catalysis. |
