Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Keiderling is well known internationally as one of the developers of vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectroscopy, and its application to structural studies of biopolymers. He has made significant contributions in the molecular understanding of protein folding, an area of high bio-medical and pharmaceutical interest, since misfolded proteins lead to a variety of diseases. In Germany, Professor Keiderling intends to analyze folding dynamics of model peptides in collaboration with research groups providing spectroscopic techniques with high time-resolution.
