Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Steffen is internationally recognized for his pioneering research into how to build accurate digital models of astrophysics phenomena from observational data. His interdisciplinary approach between astrophysics and computer science has led to the versatile software tool "Shape" which enables astrophysicists around the world to analyze and better understand a wide variety of different classes of astronomical objects. In Germany, he is visiting the Computer Graphics Lab at TU Braunschweig to learn about the latest graphics algorithms and hardware and to incorporate that knowledge into his research. |
