Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Tanimura has made seminal contributions to the theoretical treatment of many body systems and multidimensional spectroscopies. Notably, there has been a long history in trying to connect a quantum system to an environment that is central to chemistry. He derived the hierarchical equations of motion that enables study of nonlinear response of quantum dissipative dynamics. He will work with experimental groups that have directly observed the atomic motions and dissipation processes; the very microscopic processes his theories cast in mathematical terms. Prof. Tanimura is hosted by Prof. R. J. Dwayne Miller at the University of Hamburg. |
