Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Eric von Hippel is an international authority in the study of innovation. He has made outstanding contributions to our understanding of innovation in communities of practice, open source software development, and user-centric innovation processes. In his various large-scale empirical projects in countries such as the United Kingdom, Finland and Portugal he has demonstrated that innovation is not limited to professionals, but that an astonishing number of citizens and households are engaged in innovation, yielding a first-order effect on their respective economies. In Germany he continues his research on innovation in households and practitioner communities. |
