| Professor Re'em Sari from the Hebrew University for Jerusaelm in Jerusalem, Israel
Professor Sari is a highly accomplished and worldwide leading theoretical astrophysicist. He has made fundamental and widely recognized contributions to the understanding of the spectacular phenomenon of gamma-ray radiation burst sources, which are thought to be relativistic explosions occurring during the collapse of a massive star to a stellar black hole. He has also worked on the evolution of the recently discovered extrasolar planetary systems, and on the formation of galaxy disks in the Early Universe. Professor Sari's work focuses on fundamental issues of dynamics and radiation in astrophysical systems. During his stay in Germany, he intends to study the ongoing very close interaction of a gas cloud with the massive black hole in the Center of the Milky Way.
