Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Hubeny is well known internationally for his outstanding research in radiation transfer theory and related astrophysical topics. He has made important contributions to the theory on stellar atmospheres and accretion disks. Professor Hubeny combines a large variety of mathematical and numerical methods with intuitive physical insight. During his stay in Germany, he intends to develop a new generation of atmosphere models for neutron stars that will be used to constrain the equation of state of matter at supranuclear densities, and he will elaborate on spectral models for the characterization of extrasolar planets. |
