Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Kuhl is an internationally leading expert in living matter physics, the creation of theoretical and computational models to predict the acute and chronic response of living structures to environmental changes during development and disease. She has made important contributions to the understanding of living biological systems in health and disease with applications to the cardiovascular system, the musculoskeletal system and the brain. In Germany, Professor Kuhl continues her research on growth mechanisms that result in wrinkling patterns displayed by the outmost layers of mammal brain and their relation to brain malfunctioning.
