Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Gutmann is an authority in the study of molecular mechanisms involved in neurofibromatosis, a type of brain tumor which is predominantly found in children. He combines clinical and molecular research and studies the interaction of these tumor cells and its environment with particular emphasis on microglial cells, the immune cells of the brain. During his stay in Germany, he will further his research to develop novel approaches for therapy and diagnosis.
