Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Billen is internationally recognized for her outstanding research in subduction dynamics. She has made important contributions on the role of rock rheology, overriding plate structure and mantle phase transitions in the deformation of sinking tectonic plates. While in Germany, she will expand her research to focus on subduction-induced flow patterns by integrating synthetic predictions of rock fabric formation into numerical simulations and making comparisons to seismological observations from the Alp-Array. |
