Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Andrzej Oles is well known internationally for his outstanding research in theoretical condensed matter physics. He has made important contributions to the theory of strongly correlated electrons in solids. In particular, he has deepened our understanding of the complex interplay of charge, spin, and orbital degrees of freedom in transition metal oxides.During his stay in Germany, he will continue his successful work on spin-orbital models and analyze the role of defects in such systems.
