Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
Professor Inderjit Singh is well-known internationally for his innovative research on invasive plants and how they achieve their success in new regions. He has made numerous contributions to understanding how invasive plants exert negative impacts on biodiversity and other properties of the ecosystem. His discoveries focus in particular on the role of soil factors, such as chemistry, texture, and microbes, in explaining the outcome of plant-to-plant interactions. In Germany, he will investigate the role of plant chemistry in modifying the plant-soil feedbacks driven by invasive species. |
