Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Hirschmann is a leading experimental geochemist who has made outstanding contributions to the study of the Earth’s interior and its deep geochemical cycle of water and carbon dioxide. He is particularly recognized for experimentally demonstrating that rocks formed through the subduction of oceanic crust into the interior, can explain the geochemical characteristics of ocean island volcanos. During his stay in Germany, he will study the acquisition and loss of volatile elements during the formation and differentiation of the Earth. |
