| Professor Zhang is one of the most accomplished and influential scholars of constitutional law in China and certainly its most repudiated expert abroad. Different from the predominant legalistic approach to constitutional law, his research stands out by tracing the law back to its philosophical background and embedding it into its cultural context. This gives his research a remarkable depth and opens it up to interdisciplinary cooperation. During his stay in Germany, Professor Zhang will work on the project “From Constitution to Constitutionalism”. |
