Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Fortin is internationally renowned for her pioneering research in spatial and landscape ecology. She has made major theoretical contributions to the understanding of spatial patterns and ecological processes. By integrating advanced mathematical tools with strong ecological insight she develops predictive models of species range dynamics, metacommunity interactions and species persistence under global change. During her stay in Germany, Professor Fortin aims to advance novel approaches in spatial graph theory to better understand how species persist in highly dynamic and fragmented landscapes.
