Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Rowena Robinson is an international authority in the field of religious sociology with the special focus on religion in India in contexts of conversion, Christianity and ethnic conflict. In her work, she has questioned the marginalisation of minorities not only in the public sphere but also in the intellectual tradition and argued for the legitimate place of Christianity on the Indian sociological canvas. She has brought concepts such as accommodation, assimilation and syncretism under analytical enquiry. While in Germany, she will expand her thinking on forms of religious and political sociality and belonging to work on the key but often overlooked notion of fraternity, especially in relation to Indian constitutional democracy. |
